Optional company from Stuttgart is awarded for the best journeyman's examination in Baden-Württemberg

On July 22, 2024, the hands -free ceremony of the optician companies in the Filderhalle in Leinfelden -Echterdingen took place. The trainee Marie Elisabeth Tauschke, who completed her training at Pro Optik GmbH in Stuttgart, was honored by state guild master Matthias Müller and Managing Director Peter Kupczyk for the best practical result in the journeyman's examination in the state of Baden-Württemberg. She received a certificate and a cash prize. Marie Elisabeth Tauschke will represent Baden-Württemberg in the “German Championship in Handicrafts” competition on November 9, 2024 in Rathenow.

Overall, 162 test subjects for the journeyman's examination 2023/2024 (summer and winter) competed at the Leonberg vocational school location.

The Southwest German Optician and Optometist Association (Swav) is a professional association that works for the interests and goals of the opticians in Baden-Württemberg, Rhineland-Palatinate, in Saarland and Hesse. The Baden-Württemberg optician guild, the Optician guild Rhineland-Palatinate/ Saarland and the state guild for the optician craft in Hesse are members of the Swav. The association also acts as a contact for questions relating to the optics and supports the members of the guilds with various service services such as professional interests, legal advice and promotion of training and further education.

This award for Marie Elisabeth Tauschke is another highlight in the traditional history of the optics in Stuttgart. There has been a flourishing optician industry in the city since the 18th century. In 1779 Wolfgang Jakob Friedrich Frank opened the first public optician shop in Stuttgart. Since then, the industry has continued to develop and is now an important part of the craft and health care in the region. With such awards, the high quality of the training in Stuttgart and Baden-Württemberg is once again underlined.
