line 66: route between Bonn and Hangelar-Ost is separated

On Friday evening, railway line 66 between the Adelheidisstraße and Hangelar-Ost stops will be interrupted for necessary repairs. Stadtwerke Bonn (SWB) have announced that this measure applies from 9 p.m. to Saturday morning at around 5 a.m. During the interruption, replacement traffic is set up by buses, which is based on the regular timetable on line 66. This measure serves to maintain the mobility of passengers during the construction work.

Technical checks require immediate measures

In the case of routine checks of the infrastructure, it was found that a track mast requires additional security work. Business manager Friedrich-Jörn Zauner said that the work was put in the night in order to keep the inconveniences for passengers as low as possible, especially with regard to the “Rhine in flames”.

It is pointed out that the regular operation between Hangelar Ost and Siegburg and Bad Honnef continues to take place without restrictions. The service staff will be on site during working hours to offer passengers support and to clarify any questions.

These measures are part of the ongoing efforts to ensure the security and reliability of rail traffic in the region. Public transport plays a central role in the mobility concept of Bonn and the surrounding area, and such maintenance work is essential to ensure a smooth process on the traffic routes.
