Baskets defeat Petkimspor in a nerve -wracking final!

Youth BCL: Baskets-U18 wins against Petkimspor in the heartbeat final

In the exciting duel of the Youth Basketball Champions League, the Baskets-U18 celebrated a gripping victory against Petkimspor. The game started anything but optimal for the Bonn team because they quickly fell behind. But the resistance came back quickly: Cavit Gürbüzer scored the first points from the free -wire line, which initiated a remarkable run of 20: 6 for the Baskets and brought the team into the first quarter of the break after the first ten minutes (20:16).

In the second quarter, the Baskets-U18 team demonstrated its dominance by setting up a lead of 18 points with another 20: 6 run (40:22). Despite a phase in which the lead shrank to eleven points, captain Josh Behrendt ensured that the Baskets went into the half -time break with a comfortable 43:29.

After half -time, everything looked like a clear victory for the Baskets when Kenan Reinhart expanded the lead to 22 points (54:32). But in the further course of the game, the Baskets stumbled. An unexpected blockade in the head meant that they could hardly find any open degrees against the zone defense of Petkimspor. The gap grew, and suddenly the Bonners were 54:55 behind after a 0: 23 run.

However,

The team fought back: Vuk Scepanovic, who was the top scorer with 16 points, ended the negative run with an important three (57:55). In an exciting finish, in which Petkimspor took the lead with three points, the Basket's nerve strength proved. A two-time Corber success by Gürbüzer and an And-One from Scepanovic finally led the baskets to take the lead again with 64:62 before Dusan Ilic scored the final basket for 66:64 seven seconds before the end. A missed three-point throw from Petkimspor ultimately sealed the somewhat happy but deserved 67: 64 victory for the Baskets-U18.

Due to this victory, the Baskets-U18 now have the opportunity to fight for fifth place when they first participate in the Youth BCL. The next challenge is already waiting against Pallacanestro Reggiana on Sunday, which previously prevailed with 97:72 against Spartak Office Shoes. The team will do everything possible to show their strengths in this game and to further improve the placement.
