Baskets Bonn: First Youth BCL debut in focus-departure to Manisa!
start in the Youth Basketball Champions League
The Baskets Bonn are in an exciting phase because they start their first participation in the Youth Basketball Champions League (Youth BCL). In a tight schedule, the team started traveling on Sunday, followed by a Media Day and the first training session on Monday before the first game is coming on Tuesday. This structured approach is reminiscent of the professional team, which won the first title in the history of the club in 2023.
Sebastian Adelt, Managing Director of Baskets Bonn e.V. and tour guide, is very satisfied with the organization. He emphasizes the support of partners such as Probaskets e.V. and the sponsors who made it possible to take part in this competition. The coaches Francesco Tubiana and Max Becker took responsibility for the U18 team on the field. Tubiana reports of the positive team dynamics that developed in Manisa in the first few days in Manisa and emphasizes the preparation for the upcoming game against the Belgian U18 champions from Oostend.
The Baskets Bonn meet in their opening game for a team that already has experience in the Youth BCL. Oostende started last year and took a respectable seventh place. With a squad that includes several Belgian youth national players, Tim Waerniers is particularly considered a key player. He already gained professional experience in BNXT League this season. Despite these talents, the coaches report the challenge of preparing for the opponents because there is a lack of available video material and analyzes.
The debut in the Youth BCL is a great opportunity for the Baskets Bonn where every point counts. With only two games per group, it is crucial to stay focused and address the challenges directly. The qualified teams of the groups either climb into the semi -finals or fight for the placements in the back of the tournament. The Baskets are determined to do their best and to leave an impression in this international competition.
The Youth BCL offers young talents a platform to prove themselves at an international level and gain valuable gaming experiences. For the Baskets Bonn, this participation is not only a sporting challenge, but also an opportunity to promote the development of young players and to represent the club on the European stage.
