Bonn. In a current search, the police are looking for an unknown man who caused suspicion of cash underlying on December 13, 2024. The perpetrator is said to have removed an amount of 820 euros from an ATM on Peace Square after the rightful account holder had already left the financial institution.
According to the investigation, the 31-year-old account holder started a withdrawal process, but it did not directly expose the money. However, the monitoring cameras of the financial institution record how the unknown man took the money from the expenditure shaft in the period after leaving the account holder. The video recordings are a central component of the investigation, which have so far brought no results in identifying the suspect.
Due to the unsuccessful previous investigation and in coordination with a judge, pictures of the supposed perpetrator were published to support the public search. These pictures are accessible in the search portal of the North Rhine-Westphalia police and offer the population the opportunity to provide relevant information on the identity of the man.
