DHL Group: sales growth at the start of the year
Bonn. The DHL Group started with a moderate sales and result growth in 2025. In the first quarter, group sales of 20.09 billion euros were achieved, which corresponds to an increase of 2.8 % compared to the previous year. The operational result (EBIT) also improved by 4.5 % to 1.37 billion euros.
During this period, the gross investment of the DHL Group was 461 million euros, with 483 million euros in the previous year. Thanks to an effective cost and earnings management, the Free Cashflow was increased by 17.4 % to 732 million euros. The result after non-dominant proportions for the first quarter was 786 million euros and represents an increase of 6.2 % compared to the previous year.
To support corporate growth, the board introduced the "Fit for Growth" program in March 2025. This program belongs to the 2030 strategy of the DHL Group, which aims to make the company slimmer and more efficient. "Fit for Growth" includes various measures in all areas of the company and is intended to improve the cost base by more than 1 billion euros, whereby the full effect for the 2027 financial year is expected.
unchanged future forecast
The DHL Group remains optimistic, but faces a muffled macroeconomic environment. The implemented cost measures should make a positive contribution to the development of results. Based on these assumptions, the forecast for the 2025 financial year remains unchanged, with anticipation of an operational result of at least 6 billion euros and a free cash flow of around 3 billion euros. This prognosis disregards potential effects of changes in customs and trade policy, which could have both positive and negative effects on the company.
