Bad Honnef: Two gazeboils at the same time in flames - fire brigade in large -scale use

On Thursday evening, May 1, 2025, the Bad Honnef volunteer fire brigade was called for a remarkable commitment. Within a short time, the emergency services received reports about two burning gazebos in the urban area. The first alarm came at 6:11 p.m. when a gazebo was on fire on Bondorfer Straße, which bored the risk of spreading to an adjacent house.

Second fire on slope difficult extinguishing work

While the fire brigade was on the way to the first fire site, there was a report about a second fire in the street in Blümeling. The emergency services met in both places on gazebos, which were already in full fire and caused a strong smoke development. The fire fighting at the second location was particularly demanding, since it was on a slope. This made access for firefighters and the required material more time -consuming and difficult.

over 70 emergency services in use-support from Rheinbreitbach

A total of over 70 firefighters were mobilized to extinguish the fires. 25 emergency services were active at the first place of work on Bondorfer Strasse, which were able to return after about an hour. At the second fire site in Blümeling, there were even 50 emergency services, and the extinguishing work took around two hours. The Bad Honnef fire brigade also received support from the Rheinbreitbach fire brigade, which was attracted to reinforcement.

In order to adequately supply the emergency services in the warm temperatures, the German Red Cross (DRK) Siebengebirge was integrated, which provided drinks. An ambulance was also available to protect the firefighters.

The police have now initiated investigations into the cause of the fire. In view of the demanding application situation and the rapid reactions of the fire brigade, the spread of the flames to the surrounding vegetation and other buildings could be prevented in good time.
