District Court Bonn condemns two drug dealers from Oberberg

The Bonn district court condemned two men for drug trafficking who worked in Oberberg. The 27-year-old drug dealer from Wiehl received a suspended sentence of ten months, while his 36-year-old accomplice from Gummersbach was sentenced to three and a half years in prison. Both were sentenced to minors for the submission of narcotics and had the same customer who was 16 years old at the time of drug purchases.

The two defendants acted with marijuana and ecstasy, using the proceeds of their business to finance their own drug addiction. The oldest of the two dealers already had a prehistory of drug offenses and, despite a successfully completed therapy, had relapsed again. The largest amount that was sold was 80 grams of marijuana.

The court's reasoning takes into account various factors, including the age of the accused and the amount of drugs. The younger dealer was classified as less serious not only because of smaller quantities and age difference, but also because of the fact that his deeds were in a different light.

The drug sales took place between January and April 2020. During the verdict, the judge found that the 36-year-old was again involved in drug trafficking again one day after his release from the intelligence enforcement. This happened as a "runner" by recruiting the 16-year-old buyer to convey the drugs to the younger dealer.

The legal situation is still tense because the defender of the older dealer announced that the judgment appeals to appeal. The younger accused's lawyer, on the other hand, does not intend to contest the judgment. This case again raises questions about the challenges in dealing with drug crime and its effects on society.
