This unexpected announcement came about due to a request from the moderator Tommi Schmitt, who had expressed the wish in his podcast "Mixed Hack" together with Felix Lobrecht that airlines should make the appropriate announcements before landing.

Tommi Schmitt had addressed the topic in his program and emphasized that the airline, which is the first to make such an announcement before the approach, was recommended by him. Eurowings promptly reacted to this proposal and published a video in which the pilot played the words of Schmitt. The video has now been viewed over 400,000 times and met with a positive response in passengers. Schmitt and his podcast partner Felix Lobrecht also expressed themselves positively about the campaign and were happy about the implementation of their proposal.

Mixed hack is one of the most successful podcasts in Germany and appears weekly, exclusively on Spotify since autumn 2019. Schmitt and Lobrecht have a contract with the streaming service, which was extended by another three years in 2021.
