Gas leak in Stuttgart: Delays during line work lead to longer blocking

In December of last year, a gas leak was discovered under Konrad-Adenauer-Straße, which led to measures to renovate the dilapidated gas pipe. The exchanges of the lines began in February, but encountered technical problems that led to delays. As a result, a lane of the B14 in the direction of Bad Cannstatt is expected to be closed until Saturday, April 27th.

The Netze BW has been working on the renewal of the gas line at the state gallery since the end of February, after a leak was found during a routine inspection in December. The blocking of two lanes towards Bad Cannstatt was necessary to renovate the line under the heavily used main street. Despite the planned measures, technical difficulties occurred, which led to delays and now to a second extension of the closure.

drivers in downtown Stuttgart must therefore adapt to further restrictions on Konrad-Adenauer-Straße. The exact duration of the blocking is currently still unclear because the technical problems have to be resolved to ensure the smooth replacement of the gas pipe. It is being worked on to complete the work as soon as possible in order to minimize the impairments for traffic in this area.
