Process in Bonn: Nationwide, the thief gang struck - also in Alfter

The criminal trio, consisting of three men aged 25, 49 and 58, must currently be responsible for the Bonn district court for band theft and computer fraud. Between March 2023 and November 2024, according to the public prosecutor, they are said to have captured almost 100,000 euros by relying on skillful distraction techniques.

The thieves gang operated not only in Bonn, but also in other cities such as Cologne, Leverkusen and in the Rhein-Sieg district. Especially in Alfter they acted in May 2024, where they distracted a customer in a hardware store to steal their handbag unnoticed. With the EC card of the injured party, the perpetrators then pulled 1,000 euros off the account.

The perpetrator's procedure was perfidious: they selected their victims, including frail women, inattentive customers in supermarkets and business people in hotelobbies. The accusation describes the trio as "highly professional, partial and planned" in its execution. Distracting techniques enabled them to steal valuables such as wallet and laptops in a matter of seconds.

An incident that is exemplary for her stitch occurred when a Cologne hotel guest was robbed of 7,000 euros in cash and an iPad worth 800 euros. The thieves ensured that their victims were distributed while they were unnoticed by their property.

The trio's arrest in November 2024 took place when they tried to distract a driver in an underground car park. Her stitch failed because the driver had stowed her handbag in the trunk, which denied access to the thieves. They have been in custody since their arrest, and the public prosecutor has bundled the various cases in Bonn to advance the process.
