Court condemns Fuellmich: 700,000 euros from Corona Foundation miserably

A former leading representative of the coronal team and vaccination opponent scene was sentenced to a prison sentence for embezzlement of around 700,000 euros. The court expressed a prison sentence of three years and nine months. This decision was announced late Thursday.

The accused, lawyer Reiner Fuellmich, was accused of having branched out considerable amounts for private purposes together with other members of a foundation he co-founded. In particular, it was charged that Fuellmich has concluded loan contracts through which over 700,000 euros were transferred to the account of his wife.

The court also decided that five months of pre-trial detention would not be counted towards the punishment. It also ordered the collection of a value replacement in the amount of the misappropriated amount. The judgment is not yet final.

The Corona Committee Foundation was founded during corona apandemy and acted as a self-proclaimed expert body. She spread misleading information about Covid-19 as well as the vaccinations about social media and the Internet, while at the same time it promoted donations intensively. Fuellmich also had a political career as the Federal Center of the Little Party, which received a number of 1.4 percent in the 2021 Bundestag election.

This judgment illuminates the problem of mismanagement within certain groups that have formed during the pandemic. It also raises questions about responsibility and dealing with financial resources within self -proclaimed initiatives. The criminal consequences for Fuellmich could serve as a signal for other actors in similar areas, especially with regard to the responsible use of financial resources and transparent structures.
