chaos on streets - several injuries

The recent serious storms in Germany have led to a massive chaos on the streets and result in several injuries. With lightning strikes, heavy rain and gusts of wind, the extreme weather conditions caused numerous emergencies and extensive damage in different regions.

In the past few days, there have been dangerous situations in several federal states than trees overturned due to the storm and blocked. In Trier in particular, a driver was seriously injured when a tree crown fell on his vehicle. Two young men were also injured in Central Hesse when a tree fell on their car. Fortunately, they remained with minor injuries.

The weather forecasts of the German Weather Service have come true. In many parts of Germany, the conditions were so extreme that local authorities warned the population of possible flooding and damage. Falled trees and fallen branches not only led to traffic disabilities, but also to numerous fire brigade operations, which was required in different cities.

In addition, public transport was severely affected when Deutsche Bahn had to lock several routes due to fallen trees on the tracks. In Fulda, access to a hotel was blocked because of a fallen tree, which around 60 guests refused until the fire brigade could intervene.

The weather chaos also meant that numerous public events, such as the “Rhein in Flames” festival in Bonn, had to be interrupted. The organizer and city representative expressed their regret, but could not make any other decision due to the security situation.

In view of the current situation, the clean -up work begins everywhere. Emergency services work tirelessly to clear the streets again and remedy the damage. The population is asked to be careful and keep up to date with the current weather warnings.
