Karsten Tadda has established itself as an outstanding figure in the German Basketball Bundesliga. On May 9, 2025, the 36-year-old reached a special milestone when he played against Ratiopharm Ulm in his 639. With this appearance, Tadda exceeded Alex King's record so far, who was also an important player in the league. Tadda is now the sole record holder for most games in the BBL.
The importance of this anniversary was emphasized by the presence of Alex King, who is considered one of the few players who also played more than 600 games in the highest German league. The list of record players is supplemented by Rickey Paulding, who completed a total of 584 games for the Baskets Oldenburg in his active time.
Tadda began his Bundesliga career at the Bamberg Baskets, where he played from 2007 to 2015. After several years with other teams such as the Gießen 46ers, Ratiopharm Ulm, EWE Baskets Oldenburg and Telekom Baskets Bonn, Tadda returned to Bamberg in 2023. During his career, Tadda was able to celebrate numerous successes, including five German championship titles and three trophy winnings with Bamberg. Apart from his club services, the shooting guard was also an important part of the German national team and brought it to 89 missions between 2012 and 2019.
The 2025 season will be the last in Tadda's career. Next Sunday he could play his 640th and final game in the Bundesliga in the Brose Arena against Rasta Vechta. Despite the difficult situation of his team, which is no longer qualified for the Playoffs, Tadda will surely look back on his remarkable career.
