Federal Network Agency boss: power failure as in Spain "very unlikely"

The Federal Network Agency has emphasized that a large -scale power failure in Germany is considered very unlikely. This assessment was expressed in response to the recent events in Spain and Portugal, where the power grid collapsed.

Klaus Müller, the President of the Federal Network Agency, explained the preparations and robustness of the German power grid in the "ARD day show". He made it clear that the network is laid out redundantly, which means that in the event of a line failed, another can take over. This contributes significantly to the stability and safety of the power supply system in Germany.

In addition, Müller pointed out the various safety systems that are implemented in the German power grid. These systems are regularly checked for their functionality and updated if necessary. In an emergency, there are also specially equipped power plants that are able to rebuild the network. These precautions show that Germany is well prepared for possible disorders in energy supply.

The Federal Network Agency is also in close exchange with the transmission network operators to observe the situation in Southwest Europe and to draw possible teachings. Nevertheless, the main focus remains on the stable energy supply in Germany.
