Exhibition: The question of human in art and in the world

The current exhibition in the Reformation Church of the Evangelical Parish of Rüttenscheid addresses the distinctive human in art and in the world. Works by Prof. Dr. Reinhard von Bendemann, a renowned artist and scientist, whose work can be visited by July 1st. The vernissage is planned for Sunday, May 4th and is opened as part of a service.

Reinhard von Bendemann is a professor of early Christian literary history and antique Judaism at the Ruhr University Bochum and has taught at the universities of Bonn and Kiel. His passion for drawing has been with him since his youth and finds an expression in the use of pencils and colored pencils that help him create precise lines and clear structures. In his work, traditional black and white techniques combine with living colors, which makes its works particularly appealing.

The clear lines and geometric forms that enable him to interpret organic motifs, such as fruits, are particularly fascinating. Since 2023, Bendemann has expanded his artistic forms of expression through the use of digital technologies, including graphics tablets and artificial intelligence to develop new designs. This change reflects a reflected examination of the progressive digitization of the art world.

The invitation to the exhibition emphasizes that the unmistakably human despite the rapid digital development should not be lost sight of. The opening times of the exhibition are on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and on Tuesdays from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
