Exhibition in Bornheim: For an environmentally friendly and sustainable life

The current exhibition "More courage to sustainability" in the Bornheim town hall in the Bornheim town hall presents various approaches to lead an environmentally friendly and sustainable life. The exhibition was opened by Mayor Christoph Becker together with other representatives of the city of Bornheim, including Gabriele Jahn and Lena Sauer. In his opening speech, Becker emphasized the importance of individual and joint efforts to combat climate change and underlined that many global challenges can only be mastered in international consensus. Bornheim pursues concrete measures to achieve climate neutrality by 2045.

As part of around 100 projects developed with experts, the focus is on municipal heat planning, the expansion of photovoltaic systems and wind energy. This also includes the formation of energy teams in schools that encourage students to actively learn and implement energy savings. In order to counter the effects of climate change, Bornheim also took the first steps to green the streets. Such projects, such as "Pocket Parks", not only offer retreat in heavily sealed areas, but also promote the health of the citizens by reducing heat islands. The role of everyone in the greening of roofs and facades is particularly emphasized in order to have a positive impact on the microclimate in the long term.

The exhibition invites visitors to recognize their own influence and opportunities to help shape a more sustainable future. It can be seen in the community hall until June 20 and important to raise awareness of sustainable change. The exhibition and the accompanying measures stand not only for information, but also for active action and commitment of the citizens.
