New management in the women's clinic: Dr. Melisa Inci-Turan takes over

New director for the women's clinic

From May 1, 2025, Priv.-Doz. Dr. Melisa Gülhan Inci-Turan take over the management of the women's clinic at the Dortmund Clinic. With over a decade of experience, including at the Charité University Medicine Berlin, the 46-year-old gynecologist brings extensive clinical, operational and scientific expertise into her new role. Previously, she was chief physician of the GFO Clinics Bonn at St. Marien-Hospital.

dr. Inci-Turan succeeds Dr. Barbara Kipp, who led the clinic during the transition period and will remain as a senior senior doctor in the future. Prof. Dr. Dr. Stefan Haßfeld, the medical managing director of the Dortmund Clinic, highlights the importance of Dr. Inci-Turan and emphasizes their qualifications and their sensitive approach in patient care.

During her academic career, Dr. Inci-Turan is particularly interested in gynecology, which is reflected in her doctorate on breast cancer at the Westphalian Wilhelms-Universität Münster. She deepened her expertise at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Texas and at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute of the Harvard Medical School. At the Charité, she devoted herself in particular to gynecological oncology and complex operational therapy for ovarian carcinoma.

A central concern of Dr. Inci-Turan is the holistic care of women in different phases of life. It shows special interest in pension research for older and frail patients, as well as the uterine transplantation, which she considers to be a future -oriented approach in gynecological medicine.

In addition, Dr. Inci-Turan A Master in Clinical Research on Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health acquired. Their objective for the women's clinic in Dortmund is to combine modern medicine with empathy and team spirit. It emphasizes the social importance of gynecology and obstetrics as a health fields and sees its task in fulfilling them with the greatest possible care and expertise.
