The city council of the Federal City of Bonn approved a new usage agreement with the “Hardtberg Kultur” association on May 8, 2025. This will replace the existing regulation from 2010 and is a clear basis for future cooperation between the city and the association.
The agreement comes into force retrospectively from January 1, 2024 and is valid for indefinitely. A central aspect of the new regulation is that the association will forego institutional support from the city of Bonn. In the future, the financial support only focuses on the operating costs of the cultural center, which are billed up to a maximum of 17,700 euros annually.
In addition, the club must be borne by the association itself. With this regulation, the city of Bonn wants to secure the operation of the Hardtberg cultural center under a reliable framework and support the cultural diversity in the district.
The new promise of the city shows the endeavor to promote cultural initiatives in Bonn and at the same time ensure transparency and traceability of the financial resources. This can be seen as a step towards sustainable cultural development in the Hardtberg.
