Neunkirchen-Seelscheid: Fractions cannot agree-household still not decided

The municipal council of Neunkirchen-Seelscheid is again faced with a financial challenge after the budget draft was rejected by treasurer Johannes Hagen. This means that the municipality continues to stay in a provisional housekeeping and that urgently needed funds cannot be provided for various projects. The proposed measures received no required majority in the vote, in particular the factions of the CDU and the Greens positioned themselves again against the draft.

After the first rejection of the household in Middle February, an inter -fractional job discussion under the direction of Mayor Nicole Berka took place. Despite these efforts to achieve consensus, the parties could not reach an agreement, although some adjustments were made in the draft. The CDU, as the strongest faction, rejects additional tax increases and instead demands the creation of new living space to strengthen the financial resources of the community. Party chairman Andreas Stolze emphasizes that this is necessary to consolidate the municipal finances.

The CDU has already developed concrete plans to identify potential areas for residential construction. The proud expresses that the creation of 300 to 400 new residential units could achieve significant additional tax revenue that would benefit the municipality. This would not only improve the financial situation, but also enable necessary investments in the infrastructure.

On the other hand, the Green Group shows concerns about the financial plans submitted, as they fear that the municipality could get into a precarious situation without sustainable reserves. They support a professional future concept for the Aquarena and warn of the consequences that could have tax and tax increases for citizens. In the meantime, the SPD supports the draft budget and takes on the CDU not to lead the election campaign on the back of the municipality.

The preliminary rejection of the household has far -reaching consequences, since planned expenses, such as for energy saving management and the Aquarena, have been stopped for the time being. This means that both club -based initiatives and other social projects suffer from financial bottlenecks. Proud realizes that without clear financial decisions the community could get into an increasingly precarious situation.
