Emergency rescuers practice life -saving measures

On Saturday at the Stuttgart Clinic, emergency rescuers did not quite everyday scenarios. In such a exercise situation, speed is often crucial, such as the rare but life -saving tracheal cut. Emergency doctor Matthias Ott emphasized the precision that is required during this procedure, since an incorrect cut can have serious consequences. Therefore, an air pocket cut is only used as a last measure if other methods to restore breathing are no longer sufficient.

On the emergency services day in the Stuttgart Clinic, around 80 participants of various emergency organizations and institutions trained for rare but challenging emergency situations that rescue workers must be prepared. One focus was on the recovery of patients, especially people with an extremely high body weight. The Stuttgart fire brigade has special transport devices such as the "Rescue loader", which can safely promote patients with a weight of up to 500 kilograms.

New technologies also played an important role in training the rescue workers. Mobile ultrasound devices enable emergency teams to quickly identify internal injuries and make life -saving decisions. In addition to medical devices, special equipment such as a crowbar is an indispensable tool in the rescue system for the fast door opening.

Another focus was on the practical exercise for upcoming major events such as the European Football Championship. Rescue teams trained how they can provide several seriously injured people at the same time in such situations by first turning to the most serious injuries. These exercises illustrate the versatility and the high level of preparation that emergency services need for an emergency.
