Nouri Günther: The emerging judoka with great ambition in Bonn
athlete election - Nouri Günther wins in March
Nouri Günther, the talented judoka of the swimming and sports fans Bonn (SSF), won the election as a GA athlete of the month in March. The 20-year-old not only showed impressive achievements on the mat, but also a significant mobilization of his supporters through activities in social networks. "I called for election in every group in which I am: club, family, old school group," he said proudly. This strategy enabled him to win with a clear lead over other nominating athletes, including Baseballer Markus Solbach and cyclist Sebastian Niehues.
The basis for his nomination formed the bronze medal at the German U21 championships in Potsdam. Günther looks back on a successful competitive career and was able to show what he was there with the U18 DM five years ago. His recent fights in Potsdam were challenging, especially the quarter -finals against his club colleague Josef Ivchenko, whom he could defeat this time. "Fortunately, I pulled a good lot," he noted regarding his tournament course.
greatest success in the still young career
The bronze medal is the greatest success of his previous career for Günther, and he strives to continue to rise in competitive sports. There are already great successes in his family: Both his father Frank, who was GDR champion, as well as his mother Yamina Bouchibane, the German champion, train him and are also head of department at SSF. Nouri has ambitious goals and would like to draw with his parents in the judo world.
with the team in the 2nd Bundesliga
currently Günther still lives in Unkel with his parents and siblings, who also pursue judo sports. With the beginning of his studies at the state police in North Rhine-Westphalia in September, however, a new phase of life could began, since everyday life becomes more intensive and perhaps a move to Cologne. Despite these changes, he clearly sees his sporting future at the SSF in Bonn, where the team is currently in second place in the 2nd Bundesliga. He describes the team dynamics positively, but is realistic about the opportunities for advancement, since other clubs often have access to top -class fighters.
The next big goal of Günther is participation in the German Adult Championship. After a ninth place last year, he hopes for a significant improvement. His commitment and the will to get to one level with his parents drive him every day. The ambition and family support will certainly help him achieve his goals in judo.
