Requiem for Pope Francis: Memorial event in Bonn on April 25th

Am 25. April 2025 there is a special commemoration in the Bonn Münster: a requiem for Pope Francis. This day is seen by many believers as an opportunity to honor the deceased Pope and to honor his life's work. The celebration is under the direction of MSgr. Dr. Markus Hofmann, the city dean and pastor, stand.

The funeral service is not only held in the Münsterbazilica, but also transferred digitally. A corresponding link to live broadcast is published shortly before the event, so that people worldwide have the opportunity to take part in this important event. This measure shows how important it is to combine the community across geographical borders, especially in such moving times.

In the days before the request, on 23rd, 24th and 25th April , a rosary is prayed in the Bonn Münster at 5.30 p.m. to show the Pope the respect that his community and the church have brought to him. The city dean of Bonn and the St. Martin Münsterpfarrei cordially invite all interested parties to take part in this prayer.
