Königswinter: Nocturnal rescue on the Drachenfels - Rheinland - News
In late Sunday evening, the Königswinter fire brigade was called for an assignment in the forest area on the Drachenfels. A man who was strongly alcoholic and possibly under the influence of other drugs had chosen the emergency call himself, but was unable to precisely describe his exact location. Thanks to the GPS location via his cell phone, the police found him on a rocky lead in the steep slope around midnight.
rescue with obstacles
The challenges for the rescue workers were considerable. The fire brigade specialists secured the man with ropes to surely free him from the dangerous situation. This was as complicated because the next accessible path could only be reached via another steep slope. In order to get to this way, the emergency services first had to remove several rocks and fallen trees that blocked the passage.
The entire rescue operation extended over a period of about two hours. In the end, the fire brigade managed to transport the man with a special stretcher from the danger area. After completing the rescue measures, the patient, who was housed in a nearby psychiatric clinic, was brought back with an ambulance.
This event underlines the importance of the professional and well -prepared reaction of emergency services in emergency situations. The rescue workers faced the challenge of working under difficult conditions, and not only demonstrated their specialist knowledge, but also their will to work.
