Bonn rower collide with buoy on the Rhine - all four go overboard
On the evening of May 8, 2025, the fire and emergency services in Bonn were called for a water rescue operation on the Rhine. The incident occurred around 8:00 p.m. when a rowboat with four rowers near the Konrad-Adenauer-Brücke collided with a buoy.
Due to the collision, all four rowers went overboard and drove down the Rhine together with their boat. Fortunately, there were other rowing boats nearby that could intervene quickly. The rowers safely brought these boats to the bank on the left side of the Rhine.

The rowers were unharmed when the emergency services arrived, and they received support in mounting their boat. After a successful rescue, the group continued its journey with accompaniment through water -side emergency services in order to get to the nearby base on the right side of the Rhine.
For this rescue operation, the fire brigade guards 1, 2 and 3, the German Life Rescue Society (DLRG) and the water protection police were in use to support the rowers and their boat quickly and effectively.
