08.05.: Boot collides with Boje

Bonn. On the evening of May 8, there was a commitment to the fire brigade and the Bonn emergency services at around 8 p.m. when a rowboat occupied by four people near Konrad Adenauer Bridge collided with a buoy. In this collision, all four rowers plunged into the water and were driven down the Rhine by boat.

Rowboats were immediately responded to, which hurried to help and brought the rowers safely to the left bank of the Rhine. The emergency services, including the Feuerwachen 1, 2 and 3, the German Life Rescue Society (DLRG) and the Water Protection Police, also arrived at the site to support the uninjured rowers in rescue their boat.

After the successful recovery, the boat continued its journey, accompanied by water -side rescue agents, towards his base on the right side of the Rhine. Thanks to the quick action of the surrounding row boats and the emergency services, the worst could be prevented.

The collision is another example of the potential dangers that exist on water for both hobby rowers and for leisure captains. It is important to always be attentive and take safety precautions in order to avoid such incidents. Often unforeseen circumstances and disregarded signs lead to dangerous situations on the water.

In similar incidents in recent years, it became clear that a quick intervention and support from other water vehicles are decisive to prevent possible injuries and major damage. The local emergency services are regularly trained in order to act quickly in the case of water accidents and take life -support measures.
