Serious motorcycle accident in Lohmar: two drivers seriously injured

In a motorcycle accident on Wednesday afternoon in Lohmar, two motorcyclists were seriously injured, with a 62-year-old man suffering life-threatening injuries. The incident occurred on Bönnerbergstrasse when a 58-year-old driver from Lohmar got too far onto the oncoming lane in a right-hand bend and collided with the 62-year-old. Both motorcycles then plunged onto the road.

The seriously injured Troisdorfer was looked after by a witness who is a paramedic and lives nearby until the emergency services arrived. An emergency doctor was flown to the scene of the accident with the rescue helicopter Christoph 3 to supply the injured before being transported to the clinic in Merheim. The 58-year-old person who caused the accident was also injured and taken to a hospital in Siegburg with an ambulance.

While the accident recording took place by a team from the Oberberg district police, Bönnerbergstrasse had to be completely closed, which forced numerous cyclists and motorcyclists to take detours. The property damage incurred is estimated at around 20,000 euros, and the relatives of the injured were informed by the police.
