In a serious traffic accident on Friday, April 25, a driver on Landstrasse 268 in the Königswinter district of Sandscheid was so seriously injured that resuscitation was required on site. The incident occurred around 5:30 p.m., when an SUV came off the road, drove over a guardrail and fell into an embankment, where the vehicle finally landed on the roof in a garden next to a house.

First aiders had already tried to reach the man, but this was initially not possible. Finally, it was possible to gain access to the inside of the vehicle via the tailgate. At this point, however, the rescuers could not find any signs of life and initated the so -called "immediate rescue". Supported by the fire brigade forces, the resuscitation was carried out, which was successful after a while. The injured person could then be transported to a hospital.

At the beginning it was unclear how many people were injured, which is why the control center immediately alerted two ambulances and two emergency medical vehicles. Among other things, the units from Uthweiler, Eudenbach and the armory from Ittenbach from the Königswinter volunteer fire brigade were involved in the operation. However, the emergency services from Eudenbach were able to quickly move away because the Situation at the scene of the accident was manageable.

While the police's accident recording is still in full swing, a towing service was entrusted with the rescue of the accident. Such accidents on the L268 are not commonplace, but they have caused excitement several times in the region. In view of such events, safety in road traffic remains an important topic for the local authorities.
