closure A3 departure Siebengebirge moved again
The descent from the Siebengebirge on the A3 motorway towards Cologne is again not closed as planned. According to the Federal Autobahn GmbH, the closure should only begin on Saturday, April 26, at around 8 p.m. This delay is due to unfavorable weather conditions.
In particular, the moist conditions have an impact on the quality of the street markings. Since the markings are not reliably liable in the rain, the competent authority has decided to postpone the start of the blocking to ensure the safety of traffic routing.
The blocking is particularly problematic because it falls on the streets in the period of return travel after the Easter holidays, one of the most busy days on the streets. The planned measure is expected to last until Monday, June 16 and therefore take around seven weeks.
This section of the A3, between the Bonn/Siegburg motorway triangle and the Siebengebirge junction, is extensively renewed. Among other things, the work includes the use of noise -reducing asphalt, the repair and the construction of bridges as well as the installation of noise protection walls. These measures are part of a comprehensive renovation that has been going on since 2019 and extends over a 42 -kilometer range.
The A3 is one of the most used motorways in Germany with an average of 82,000 vehicles per day. In view of this, it is essential to keep the infrastructure in an appropriate state in order to guarantee both traffic safety and the comfort of travelers in the long term.
