Disorder of Cologne/Bonn Airport: rail traffic in Bonn is severely impaired

Railway traffic in Bonn and the surrounding Region was severely affected on Thursday due to a defective switch at Cologne/Bonn Airport. The disturbance, which, according to Zuginfo.NRW started around 10.30 a.m., led to the trains in the affected section of the route to drive more slowly. This in turn resulted in delays and partial failures. The affected clay lines included the RE6, RE8, RB27, Re9, S12 and the S19.

Deutsche Bahn asked travelers to check their connections and departure times, since impairments in train traffic was expected. Zuginfo.nrw predicted that the disorder should probably be remedied until 4 p.m. Until then, travelers should expect possible restrictions and delays in rail traffic.

The damage to a switch at Cologne/Bonn Airport led to significant problems in rail traffic that affected several train lines. The passengers concerned were asked for understanding, while the train employees worked on removing the disorder as soon as possible. Even after repairing the switch, delays could still occur, since train traffic gradually normalizes.
