Tennis star IGA Swiatek triumphs in Stuttgart

The Polish tennis star Iga Swiatek successfully started in the clay court tournament of Stuttgart and secured a clear victory in the round of 16 against Belgian Elise Mertens 6: 3, 6: 4. Swiatek is aiming for the third time in a row with the high-class occupied indoor event and was satisfied with her entry into this year's edition. After her victory, she emphasized that there was always space for another sports car, since in addition to the prize money there is also a Porsche Cup for the tournament winner.

The three-time French Open winner demonstrated a strong and concentrated performance from the start by quickly taking the lead 3-0 and securing the first set after almost 40 minutes. Although Swiatek left some match balls unused, she ultimately won the game after an hour and a half playing time with a crucial forehand. She received support from numerous fans, which they cheered on with Poland flags from the ranks.

The Wimbledon winners Marketa VonDrousova and Jelena Rybakina were also able to qualify for the quarter-finals. While the Czech Vondrousova won 7: 6 (7: 5), 6: 1 against the Russian Anastasia Potapowa, Kazakhin Rybakina had to fight against the Russian Veronika Kudermetowa and ultimately won 7: 6, 1: 6: 4 after two and a half hours of play. It appears that German players are no longer represented in singles.
