NIO, the Chinese manufacturer of electric vehicles, has recently opened its 20th Power Swap Station (PSS) in Germany. This station is located in Sankt Augustin, North Rhine-Westphalia, and is an important step as part of the continuous expansion of the company's charging infrastructure in Europe. In addition, this is the 60th PSS of the company on the European market.
The new second generation power swap station is designed to carry out efficient battery exchange processes. It can replace up to 312 batteries every day and store up to 13 batteries. This innovative concept aims to offer users a highly efficient and time -saving solution for loading their electric vehicles.
Kajsa Ivansson Sognefur, Head of Power Europe near NIO, emphasized the importance of this opening and described it as a strong signal of the company's commitment to providing innovative energy solutions throughout Europe. According to Sognefur, the growing network of Power Swap Stations should not only offer users comfort, but also flexibility.
In the course of the expansion of the infrastructure, NIO has also introduced a flexible battery upgrade, which is available in Germany and in Norway, the Netherlands and Sweden. This offer enables users to exchange their standard battery for a period of 30 days for a battery with a larger range. This flexibility is particularly advantageous for users who temporarily have a higher range requirement, for example when traveling.
With this new solution, which can also be booked via your own app, not only the total costs for the users are reduced, but also the electromobility is even more sustainable and more accessible. This development underlines NIOS's goal of actively shaping the mobility of the future and making a significant contribution to promoting electric vehicles in Europe.
