Tragic fire in Bergisch Gladbach: a person died
At noon today, the fire brigade and the emergency services in Bergisch Gladbach were called to a fire in a building on Reuterstrasse. The emergency call reached the operating control center at 12:34 p.m., whereby it was reported that there was still one person in the building.
When the first rescue workers arrived, residents had already made attention to themselves in front of the building and reported that they had heard calls from the 1st floor. Flames hit the windows of this floor, which indicated an acute danger for the person in the building.
A fire brigade team immediately attempted a rescue and reached the 1st floor, where they discovered a lifeless person. Despite immediate resuscitation measures, the alarmed emergency doctor could only determine the person's death. Tragically, a diluted dog was also found in the apartment.
The fire brigade's forces acted quickly and were able to quickly control the fire. Nevertheless, it was necessary to open parts of the roof and the ceiling construction to delete hidden brand nests and to ensure a complete defusing of the danger situation.
After the operation, the deceased person was transferred to forensic medicine at the order of the public prosecutor. The district police authority took over the investigation into the cause of the fire. The site was finally handed over to the police at 3:50 p.m. and the fire location confiscated.
A total of around 70 emergency services from the Bergisch Gladbach fire brigade, including fire guards 1 and 2, as well as fire trucks 5 and 6. During the use, fire stations 1 and 2 were occupied by other fire trucks to ensure the security of the Region.
