Tutzing celebrates honorary citizen Dr. Alfred Leclaire: 90 years full of commitment

dr. Alfred Leclaire is 90

dr. Alfred Leclaire, former mayor and honorary citizen of Tutzing, reaches the remarkable age of 90 today. He is seen as a formative figure in the community, and he was awarded honorary citizenship ten years ago. This award was presented to him by the now deceased mayor Rudolf Krug. Its sprightly state deceives over the age, because Leclaire is vital and full of life energy, which shows his big celebration, which will take place two days after Easter.

The reception in the Roncallihaus is organized by his wife Irmi, who takes care of the preparations intensively. Around 120 guests are expected, including representatives of 20 local associations in which Leclaire is active. The festive evening is celebrated in a restaurant on the banks of the Starnberg lake with his family, including his sons, daughters of daughters and grandchildren.

Alfred Leclaire was born in Alsdorf in 1935 and grew up in simple conditions. His educational path led him from Bonn via Munich to Heidelberg, where he studied political science. A stroke of luck in the form of an old friend who recommended a job at the Academy for Political Education in Tutzing, finally led him to local politics, where he became mayor at the age of 35. This turned out to be a turning point in his life, and with his ability to moderate Leclaire tried to reduce tensions in the local council.

In his time in office, Leclaire set significant accents for the community. He headed projects for creating assets for the municipality and promoted cultural initiatives, including the Tutzinger Gilde and the concert association. His passion for music, which has already been awakened in childhood, accompanies him to this day and enriches his everyday life.

The musical commitment and his visits to the gym show that Dr. Leclaire is a role model in relation to active aging. It is a lively example of how you can and would like to share your knowledge and experience with the upcoming generation of Tutzingers even at older age.
