Four injured in the event of a serious accident in Siegburg

On the evening of Easter Sunday there was a serious traffic accident in Siegburg, in which four people were injured, including two. The incident occurred around 11:05 p.m. at the output of Aulgasse, where several cars collided. Due to the severity of the accident, the road was closed for several hours.

According to the police, a 33-year-old woman from Lohmar drove in a Nissan Sentra towards Siegburg. In front of her was a VW Golf with a 23-year-old driver and a 24-year-old passenger. There was a collision when the Nissan driver opened the golf in the back. As a result, she lost control of her vehicle, got into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with a Hyundai who was driven by a 28-year-old. The collision caused the Hyundai to be thrown into the ditch, while the Nissan continued to slip across the street and with a VW Up, which was driven on board by a 24-year-old with a 16-year-old.

The fire brigade and the rescue control center were immediately alerted. When the emergency services arrived, the two occupants of the frontal collision were trapped in their vehicles. The head of operations Markus Völker organized the rescue operation in two sections in order to free the injuries as quickly as possible. Participants were scattered over the scene of the accident, and the left front wheel of the Nissan had torn down during the collision.

The rescue workers could get into the badly damaged vehicles and free the two trapped ones with hydraulic scissors. After half an hour, the first two injuries, the 33-year-old and the 28-year-old, were housed in an ambulance and were transported to surrounding hospitals. The other affected people, who initially be unharmed, later also complained of pain, which is why two additional ambulances were requested.

To clarify the cause of the accident, a specialized traffic accident team from the police from Düsseldorf, which secured the traces, was consulted. The road remained closed until well after midnight, while the investigation was continued on the exact cause of the accident. The measures to take the accident and rescue the injured show the efficiency and professionalism of the emergency services in such critical situations.
