Bonn (ots) - even in the face of noticeable inflation, the desire to travel remains unbroken. The current results of the Norisbank summer survey show that around two thirds of the respondents plan to take a journey of more than seven days in 2025. This stability clarifies compared to the previous year that the longing for relaxation and adventure is still very pronounced even in challenging economic times.

Despite the increased cost of living and price increases in various areas, including services and food, it can be seen that many Germans are willing to save for their vacation and set priorities in their budget. An increase of 10.4 percentage points for those who specifically save on a vacation signals an increased awareness of financial planning and foresight.

Especially among the younger age groups, the desire to travel stands out: 75.3 percent of 18- to 34-year-olds have fixed vacation plans, which makes them the most travel-loving in the survey. This is in contrast to the 50- to 69-year-olds, of whom 9.3 percent state that they have to do without a trip due to inflation.

On average, travelers set a budget of 1,432 euros per person for their summer season. This is a slight decline compared to the previous year, but still significantly higher than in the time before pandemic. The willingness to invest at the holiday destination for experiences - such as going out to eat or leisure activities - shows that the Germans regard their trips not only as a pure relaxation, but also as a possibility of personal enrichment.

Overall, it can be said that despite economic challenges, Germans want to continue their tradition of travel and relaxation. You are ready to spend money on unforgettable experiences and not to give up the desire for vacation. The proactive austerity measures, which many take, show increasing trust in a redesign of their leisure plans even in uncertain times.
