liquid in letter: alarm to the Bundeswehr location
in Bonn, a building of the Bundeswehr command of the Bundeswehr and information space was partially evacuated in a letter due to a suspicious liquid. A soldier discovered the alarming shipment in the post office, from which an unknown liquid had leaked. This led to the immediate alarm, as a spokesman for the Bundeswehr reported.
The soldier triggered the alarm according to the specified procedure. During the evacuation, he put on the Bundeswehr's ABC protection and took a seat in a safe adjoining room. Rescue workers were in contact with him and it was confirmed that he had no health complaints.
The ABC alarm, which is triggered in Germany when suspected atomic, biological or chemical dangers, is a part of a standardized operational concept. Such alarms are designed to quickly identify dangerous substances and to take appropriate measures.
In the evening, a city spokesman was notified that special units of the fire brigades from Cologne and Essen had analyzed and secured the suspicious liquid. The further examinations are carried out in laboratories to determine the nature of the substance. A total of up to 90 emergency services from the professional fire brigade, volunteer fire departments and emergency services as well as employees of the municipal regulatory service were involved.
The Ludwig-Erhardt-Allee, which was closed due to the operation since noon between the main entrance of the Rheinaue and Kennedyallee, was released for traffic again at 8:40 p.m. The rapid reaction of the emergency services shows the seriousness of the situation and the need to be prepared for potential dangers.
