L331 in Königswinter is being renovated: detours for drivers

From May 12th, drivers in the ITTENBACH and Oberpleis area must expect significant traffic disorders. Landesstraße 331, an important traffic route between the "Aral Group" in Oberpleis and the Siebengebirge junction on the A3, is comprehensively renovated. During these construction measures, the road is converted into a one -way street, which means that the traffic can only flow towards Ittenbach.

The direct reason for the renovation is the damage to the lane ceiling for a long time, which is characterized by numerous potholes and signs of wear. The detour for vehicles that want to from Ittenbach to Oberpleis leads via state road 83, the L143 and the L268. This will be a change for many commuters and residents, since the Rutscheid industrial estate will only be accessible from Oberpleis during the construction phase.

The changes also affect local public transport: bus lines 512, 521 and 598 towards Oberpleis are affected by the closure. In particular, the school bus line 512 will not operate according to its regular timetable, so that schoolchildren and other passengers have to use alternative stops. This can unnecessarily complicate the school day for some students because the bus traffic has to be adjusted.

In addition to the renovation of the L331, the Siebengebirge exit of the A3 was recently closed in the direction of Cologne. This is done as part of a separate renovation of the motorway section, where the lanes were reduced to two narrowed traces. Vehicles that want to drive towards Siebengebirge have to use country roads, which continues to complicate the traffic situation.

In view of these extensive road construction work, it is recommended to carefully observe the current traffic situation and, if necessary, plan alternative routes. The responsible authorities work to keep the impairments as low as possible, but drivers should be prepared that their usual track routes will temporarily not be available.
