Constitutional protection judgment: Verdi boss wants AfD prohibition procedure
According to the recent findings of the Office for the Protection of the Constitution, Frank Werneke, the chairman of the Verdi union, calls for the preparation of a procedure for the ban on the AfD. This claim comes as "secured right-wing extremist" after the party has been classified. Werneke emphasizes that such a project should not replace the need for the daily political examination of the AfD. Nevertheless, he thinks it is time to point out the dangers that work out of the party.
Werneke also expressed that members of the AfD who work in the public service are not sustainable at his discretion, especially if they perform sovereign tasks. In the collective agreements for federal and local workers, there is a clear obligation that states that employees have to commit themselves to the freedom-democratic basic order.
The head of the trade has created additional clarity by highlighting the specific benchmark for civil servants and employees in the public service. For this group, membership in a right -wing extremist party like the AfD should be unacceptable. This goes hand in hand with the multiple pressure that is exercised on the public service to show a clear commitment to democratic values.
The debate about dealing with AfD members in the civil service has initiated an intensive discussion. This topic will also be treated at the next Interior Ministers' Conference, which will take place in Bremerhaven in June, to discuss possible consequences and measures.
The Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution has recently clarified that the AfD is now classified as secure right -wing extremist. This represents a significant turning point, since previously only individual national associations were classified in this way. This could have far -reaching consequences for the political landscape in Germany.
