Wolfgang Wiedlich: A legendary evening for the 30-year-basket celebration

On April 11th, the anniversary night of Telekom Baskets Bonn took place on April 11th, which celebrated the 30th anniversary of the association and attracted around 300 guests. An important moment of the event was the honor of Wolfgang Wiedlich, the president of the association and long -time managing director of Bonbas GmbH. Wiedlich, who has held the office of President since 1998, was accompanied by his entire team onto the stage to honor his services to the Baskets. In this regard he expressed: "These are quite a few," and was visibly moved by the great recognition in the context of the anniversary.

A highlight of the gala was the handover of a new sign for Wolfgang-Wiedlich-Platz by Maxim Krtschil, the majority shareholder of the Baskets. This place extends over the entrance area on Telekom Dome to the basket ring. The guests praised with minutes -long standing ovation, which impressively demonstrated the connection and appreciation within the basketball community.

The festival guests included Bonn's mayor Katja Dörner, head of sports and sponsorship at Deutsche Telekom, Henning Steiegenroth, as well as many former players and trainers, including record coach Michael Koch and record player Branko Klepac. The commentator Chris Schmidt, known for his legendary words during the final Four of the Champions League 2023, also attended the event and contributed to the festive mood.

During the evening, numerous speeches were kept in which the different facets of the baskets were illuminated. The speakers, including Dörner, Steiegenroth, Koch and the managing director Simon Pallmann, reflected on the past and the successes of the past three decades.
