Robot for elementary school students: Rotary Club promotes digital education in Tuttlingen!
The student research center Südwürttemberg at the Tuttlingen location is pleased about a generous donation from the Rotary Club Tuttlingen. With this support, four new LEGO Spike Robot could be purchased, who benefit the first Lego League team of the SFZ Tuttlingen. In addition, the robots are also used in basic courses at primary schools in the Region.
Thanks to the new investment, large classes can now program in teams of two and test their robots in a labyrinth. The aim is to promote the digital basic formation of primary school children. By using the robots, pupils should develop their abstract and critical thinking in order to effectively solve complex problems. The Rotary Club Tuttlingen is recognized for its commitment and support for education, as Schwäbische.de reported.

Important for the success of the task was to build up the course to avoid obstacles. In addition, the participants learned to create their own routes with color codes that the ozobots should follow. These small robots recognize colors and react to the color codes thanks to their optical sensors. Another component of the project was the introduction to the OzoBlockly app, which enables simplified programming of the ozobots. The focus was on creative ideas development and the introduction to robotics, such as tuftelakademie.de reported.
