Women's football in the region: Exciting season preparation 2023/24!

The summer break is an important time for the women's football teams in our region. While many players recover from the requirements of the past season, the next round is just around the corner. Those responsible for the teams report on changes and the current preparation situation of their teams.

At SV Granheim there is a significant change in personnel: Erich Kraus takes over the women's team. The trainer, who was previously with the men's team of the SGM Hayingen/Pfronstetten/Zwiefalten, expressed that he was looking forward to the new challenge and felt very comfortable with the club. At his side, Franziska Uhl will be active as an assistant coach who has played football in Granheim for many years.

preparations and goals of the teams

Last season, SV Granheim was able to take fourth place in the Landesliga with 15 wins and a solid goal difference of 67:37. Kraus wants to continue this positive balance in the new season and considers the teams from TSV Lustnau and TSV Sondelfingen to be potential championship candidates. The SV Granheim players continue to train together during the preparation. However, Kraus had to struggle with absent players because of vacation, which made it difficult to get used to it. The first kick -off of the new season is on September 15th when Granheim plays against TSV Albeck at home.

The anticipation is also great at SG Altheim. SGA trainer Gerhard Kottmann hopes that his team, who took seventh place with 31 points last season, can play more constant. The goal is to assert yourself in the upper half of the table. Kottmann sees the teams from TSV Lustnau and TSV Sonelfingen as favorites, but also appreciates SV Granheim as a strong opponent. The SG Altheim squad remains largely unchanged, and several youth players are given the chance to get involved in the first or second team. On September 15, SG Altheim will also play a home game, against SC Unterzeil-Reichenhofen at 5 p.m.

last season was the SG Öpfingen, who rose to the national league with 14 victories and winning the championship in the regions league. Trainer Hasan Dönmez expressed optimistic about the new season and sees the goal of avoiding relegation. Dönmez names TSV Lustnau, TSV Sondelfingen and TSV Albeck as the main favorites for the upper places. However, he believes that his team can also have a good chance of points against other teams. The first matchday of the new season for SG Öpfingen is on September 15th when they compete at TSV Lustnau at 1 p.m.
