Sustainable mobility: Ulm tests car key against e-bike!
In an exciting initiative to promote sustainable mobility, around 30 international guests gathered in Ulm to take part in an exciting program by Wednesday. This event, which is organized by eleven partners from the Danube region, is supported by the Interreg Donaumaumr program of the European Union. Like Ulm-News reported, there are numerous lectures and workshops on the agenda that deal with the challenges and solutions for environmentally friendly mobility in urban areas.
A highlight of the project is the pilot campaign "Car key against bicycle", which aims to change the mobility behavior in the region sustainably. Selected test subjects will try out various environmentally friendly means of transport, including high-quality e-bikes and slaps, as well as free tickets for local public transport. The only condition? During the test phase, you have to do without the use of your car. This innovative measure is accompanied by a survey that is carried out before and after the test phase to determine how the new mobility alternatives influence the behavior of the participants.
international networking and best practice
The meeting is not only an opportunity to exchange ideas, but also a step towards an emission -free mobility in the entire Danube room. The pilot campaign is embedded in the European networking of the A2PT project, whereby the focus is on the exchange with partners from other Danube countries. Here, findings and best practices should be developed to set the course for sustainable mobility.
On November 11th, the four -day event began with a meeting of the International Expert Committee "Partnership for Healthy Active Mobility" (The PEP) of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE). The focus was on international initiatives to promote multimodality. In addition, the first results of the largest cycling survey were presented in Europe, which the Donaubüro carried out together with the European cycling association (ECF).
excursions and exchange of knowledge
On November 12, excursions and presentations will take place, in which proven procedures for the integration of cycling and public transport are exchanged between the project partners and international experts. These events offer a valuable platform to share experiences and to discuss innovative approaches to promote sustainable mobility.
This initiative is not only important for the Ulm region, but also has the potential to serve as a model for other cities. Like Ulm-News reported, the exchange of ideas and experiences between the participants will help to cope with the challenges of urban mobility and to design a sustainable future for everyone
