As ZVW , Rosenthal plans to realign its production locations in Upper Franconia. Instead of two factories, only one production facility should be preserved, which will also produce on a smaller extent. However, it is still unclear where exactly the remaining factory will be.

Rosenthal can look back on a long history, was founded in 1879 and stood for high -quality porcelain products and innovative design. But the pressure from global competition and changing consumption behavior have been difficult for the company. According to BR in recent years has decreased by around 30 percent, which leads to an urgent need for action. Despite the challenges, the company is optimistic about being able to set the course for a successful future, even if savings in the structure and job -related are necessary.

The two production facilities in Selb and Speichersdorf are currently the company's last bastions in Germany. Selb is known for the production of large porcelain pieces in the premium segment, while in Speichersdorf mainly flat goods such as plates are produced. At the end of 2024, the negotiations are to be completed, with a final decision on the future orientation of the company, which is planned for the end of January 2025.
