A Brazilian died after he was arrested by the police and included with an apparently tear gas canister in his trunk, which triggered outrage throughout the country.
In a viral video that was recorded in the northeastern city of Umbauba on Wednesday, two officials can be seen who nail the 38-year-old well-ranked of de Jesus Santos on the street.
Then they put it in the trunk of their federal police vehicle and kept the tailgate closed, even as a thick white smoke from the car.

"That was a crime, committed with cruelty," said Santos' Mrs. Maria on the local news page G1.
"You threw a kind of gasoline into the trunk and went to the police station, but my uncle was passed out. They took him to the hospital, but it was already too late," said Wallyson de Jesus, a nephew of Santos.

The federal road police said that Santos had "actively fought" and caused the officials to use "gentle immobilization techniques". They said that disciplinary proceedings had been opened. President Jair Bolsonaro also said that he would find out what happened.
In social media, outrage broke out about the pictures, and dozens of people gathered in Umbauba on Wednesday to protest where they blocked and burned a street.
"The population is outraged", a man can be heard in a video of the protest posted on Twitter. "You murdered the guy!" Another told the crowd about a loudspeaker.
The incident "shocked Brazilian society due to the extent of its brutality and revealed the lack of willingness of the institution to guarantee that its agents follow fundamental procedures," said the Brazilian Forum for Public Security, an independent group.
