The counter-offensive of Ukraine is in full swing, claims Wagner boss

The counter-offensive of Ukraine around the eastern city of Bachmuth is "in full swing," said the leader of the Wagner mercenary group after reports on Russian losses.

Jewgeni Prigoschin said about the Ukrainian Operations proved to be “unfortunately successful” because his fighters were very pressure on their flanks in the event of a new move by the Kiewer armed forces. His claims came after the Ukrainian President Wolodymir Selenskyj had declared that his troops were not ready for a counter -offensive that was generally expected.

The Ukrainian president warned that it was "unacceptable" to start the attack now, since too many human lives would be lost in trying to drive the Russian armed forces out of his country broken up by the war. "With [what we already have] we can continue and in my opinion successful," he said.

But Mr. Progoschin said that Ukraine is already attacking Bachmut's flanks, which has been besieged by Russia for more than nine months

"The situation on the flanks develops according to the worst predicted scenario," he said. "All areas that have been conquered with the blood and life of our comrades over many months and advanced dozens of or hundreds of meters every day are now practically thrown away by those who should keep our flanks."

Prigoschin accused the Ukrainian president "deception" after he claimed that the long -awaited counter -offensive was delayed while Kiev was waiting for further western aid deliveries. "As far as the counter-offensive is concerned, Wolodymyr Selenskyj is not honest: the counter-offensive is in full swing," said the Wagner boss.

At the beginning of this week, Ukrainian armed forces recaptured the area on the southwestern corner of Bachmut by taking advantage of an obvious communication disorder between Wagner and the Russian military.

Russian paratroopers had supported Wagner's hard advance through the west of the city by holding Ukrainian units on the flanks.

Blogger warnings

Prominent Russian military bloggers warned of at least four positions on Russia's flanks that were lost in the recent Ukrainian counter -offensive for Bachmut.

The new advance has contributed to regaining control over the so -called “Street of Life”, which was used to defend Bachmut in the longest and bloodiest battle of the war.

Ukraine has formed twelve new military brigades, nine of which are equipped and trained by NATO allies in order to carry out the excited counter-offensive.

The operational details of the plan were kept secret and are only known to a small group of consultants around Mr. Selenskyj in order to ensure a surprise effect at the beginning of the attack.

It is generally assumed that the armed forces of Ukraine will try to push Russian troops back in the southern regions of Cherson and Saporischschja to cut Moscow's Landbrücke into the occupied Crimea peninsula.

More than 230 fighter tanks and 1,550 armored vehicles were donated to the Ukraine by NATO allies for the offensive.

exhausted floor troops

Admiral Rob Bauer, Chairman of the NATO military committee, said that the member states of the alliance could have taken risks in the care of Kiev because Russia had significantly decimated its land troops during the invasion.

"At the moment they are [Russia] about 85 percent or more of their soil troops in Ukraine," he said at a defense and security conference in Brussels.

"The chance that the Russian armed forces will attack NATO with ground troops is currently very, very low."

he added: "For this reason we tell the NATO countries: If you hand over gun systems and skills to Ukraine, we can take a certain risk when it comes to floor troops because the Russian soil troops are unable to actually attack NATO." at the moment. ”

Meanwhile, Ben Wallace, the British Minister of Defense, seemed to support the victims, use the British dishes to sue the Wagner Group.

"What Wagner will choose will have a greater effect will complain about the courts, I suspect, because mercenaries should not wait long if they are not paid," he told the MPs when they were asked about the ban.
