Doping in cycling: Pogacar understands doubts

cycling superstar Tadej Pogacar shows understanding of doubts about his performance

Passy (dpa)-the two-time winner of the France tour, Tadej Pogacar, has shown understanding of the skepticism of some people with regard to their performance. In an interview, the cycling superstar expressed understanding of the doubt and stated that he could understand that people still fight with the doping scandals from the past.

Cycling was shaken by numerous doping scandals from 1998 to 2009, which caused massive negative headlines. The doubts about the credibility of the professionals are therefore not unfounded. The scandals have greatly shaken the public's trust in cycling and fueled the discussions about doping and clean sport.

Pogacar's rival Jonas Vingegaard was also faced with similar questions, but also showed understanding for the suspicion of people. He emphasized that he took nothing and try to do his best to convince the doubters.

This year's Tour de France is now on the home stretch, with six stages until the final in Paris. Pogacar is almost ten seconds behind defending champion Vingegaard. The fight for victory is therefore particularly exciting in the remaining stages.

It remains to be seen whether the cycling superstar can convince the doubters with his performance and whether cycling is able to polish up its shaped image again.
