Jeffrey Epstein sent a letter to America's second most infamous pedophiles in prison

Jeffrey Epstein wrote to another infamous American pedophile before his suicide in prison, as can be seen from newly published prison files.

The financier wrote to Larry Nassar, the doctor of the US women's national team, who was convicted for several decades for sexual abuse of numerous young athletes.

The records of the US Bureau of Prison were received by Associated Press and offer a new insight into Epstein's behavior during his 36 days in prison before his suicide in August 2019.

Two weeks before he ended his life, described prison officers in the dilapidated and chaotic metropolitan correctional center in Manhattan, which fell asleep, financed as excited and incapable of sleeping.

The 66-year-old Epstein described himself as a "coward" and complained that it was difficult for him to get used to life behind bars after he was arrested in July of the same year for state allegations for sex trade and conspiracy. In the event of a conviction, he threatens up to 45 years in prison.

It was recorded how he was sitting with his hands over the ears in a corner of his cell and desperately tried to dampen the sound of a broken toilet that did not stop running.

Chlamydien

During a health investigation, he stated that he had more than ten female sexual partners in the past five years and had been treated for chlamydia.

According to the medical records, he suffered from sleep apnea, constipation, high blood pressure, pain in the lower back area and prediabetes.

Epstein later complained that he had to wear an orange overall and was annoyed that he was treated like an "evil", even though he was good behind bars.

For his almost daily visits to his lawyers, he asked for a brown uniform.

The documents also reveal the attempt by the unadorned financier to contact Nassar, whose awareness as a productive sex offender was only put in the shade by Epstein's reputation.

weeks after his death, the letter was found in the post office of the prison with the note "sending back to the sender".

"It seemed as if he had sent him by post and he was sent back to him," said the investigator, who had found the letter, to a prison officer by email.

"I'm not sure if I should open it or whether we should hand it over to someone."

Find pit of documents

The letter itself was not among the 4,000 documents that the AP was handed over as part of an request for information, so that its content is still unknown.

The abundance of documents reveals the extent of the lack of personnel and mismanagement, which have contributed to Epstein's death.

The increased control of the Bureau of Prison after his death led the metropolitan correctional center in 2021.

In an internal memo that was sent after Epstein's death, the problems in prison were attributed to "a significant lack of personnel, inadequate or lack of training as well as follow -up and supervision".

Martin Weinberg, Epstein's lawyer, said that the people detained in the facility should have “had to endure medieval prison conditions that no American accused should have been suspended”.

"It is sad, it is tragic that an event of this kind has led to the Bureau of Prisons finally closed this unfortunate facility," said Mr. Weinberg.

The workers who were supposed to guard Epstein on the night of his suicide, Tova Noel and Michael Thomas, admitted to having fake prison files to give the appearance as if they had carried out the necessary checks.

In fact, the prosecutors claimed that the guards were only 15 feet from Epstein's cell at their desks to shop or sleep online. Later the two agreed with the public prosecutor's office on an agreement for their cooperation.

on the day before Epstein ended his life, a federal judge dismissed about 2,000 pages of documents in a lawsuit for sexual abuse against him.

prison officers found that this development together with the lack of important interpersonal connections and “the idea of possibly spending his life in prison were probably factors that contributed to Mr. Epstein”.
