On Saturday, July 15th, a man only showered a parked car in Wolgast with petrol and then lit. The car owner saw the incident and informed the police. The neighbor was arrested on site.

The biting smell hung in the air several hours later: in the Wolgast-Nord district, a car burned in the early Saturday evening. A man is said to have showered a vehicle in Pestalozzistraße with petrol around 6 p.m. and then infected, the police say.

The car was on the roadside. The owner of the vehicle saw the incident and informed the police that a neighbor had lit her car.

The officials were able to put the 40-year-old neighbor in the close range. It was noticeable that he was slightly injured on the right leg during the arson. The infected VW burned out completely through the flames. A Seat next to it, a street tree and the asphalt were also significantly damaged.

The police currently estimate a total damage of 17,000 euros. The fire brigades from Wolgast and Hohendorf were on site with 20 comrades and were able to prevent spreading to other vehicles.
