Mitsotaki's Sieges -Sinie -Siege Before new elections in Greece

Greece is again facing new elections after no party was able to achieve the absolute majority at the end of May. Kyriako's Mitsotakis from the conservative Nea Dimocratia is the favorite for the election victory. In the previous elections, his party surprisingly received almost 41 percent of the votes, while the left Syriza was far from ex-premier Alexis Tsipras. Mitsotakis could now reach an absolute majority in parliament thanks to bonus seats, which is possible due to a special feature in the right to vote. The last surveys indicate that the NEA Dimocratic is still on the upper. Syriza still hopes for a successful result and relies on social promises such as higher salaries and pensions as well as a reduction in VAT on food and petrol. The social democratic pasok under Nikos Androulakis also strives for the strongest opposition power after the recurrence and relies on topics such as social housing and renewable energies. Another topic of election campaigns are the refugees with whom the two major parties deal differently.
